Fremont County Cleanup/Recycling

As of this morning we have provided 303 trash vouchers to residents of unincorporated Fremont County. We only have 30 remaining. Last year we gave out 189 so we are very happy our residents are coming in and requesting the trash vouchers. The Fremont County Cleanup Campaign will run through May 17th. Just a reminder that Vouchers are only issued to residents of Unincorporated Fremont County and there is a limit of 1 voucher per address. No Televisions, Microwaves or Electronic Appliances. Vouchers can be picked up at the Fremont County Administration Building, Room 105, which is also the Commissioners Offices, as the HR office and my office are temporarily being moved to the lower level of the building while we are having our carpet replaced; so again please go to Room 105 on the main level to request your trash voucher.

We will also be partnering with 3R Technologies to provide an Electronic Recycling Event on May 25th from 9am-12pm at the Department of Human Services Parking Lot. You can contact us 719-276-7409 for any questions or concerns you may have.

Grandview Bridge Project

The Grandview Ave Bridge replacement project contract was awarded to Siete Inc, who are based in Rye, Colorado on April 18th 2024, by the BOCC. Pre-construction preparations are taking place in advance of the anticipated May 13th contract start date. Fremont County will be notifying residents and businesses near the bridge, as Grandview Avenue will be closed to traffic for the duration of the project, which is expected to take approximately 6 months. The County is also coordinating with the City of Canon City on Public Information messaging. The contractor will be installing portable electronic message boards with detour information prior to street closure
