Fremont County is committed to providing access to our services to all Coloradans by advancing technology accessibility. Our ongoing accessibility effort works towards being in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) criteria. These guidelines not only help make technology accessible to users with sensory, cognitive and mobility disabilities, but ultimately to all users, regardless of ability.
We welcome comments on how to improve our technology’s accessibility for users with disabilities and requests for accommodations to any Fremont County services.
How We Are Implementing Accessibility
Website Testing and Remediation
- We make use of tools such as the Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool (WAVE) and the SiteImprove Accessibility Checker to regularly test all webpages for accessibility, along with other testing tools.
- We continue to test and remediate our digital products in an effort to provide continuous improvement of our sites and applications.
Training
- We provide accessibility training to all staff, via both group training and regular targeted training. An intranet page dedicated to accessibility resources is also available to staff in addition to the monthly State of Colorado Accessibility Newsletter.
Feedback and Accommodation Requests
We welcome your feedback about the accessibility of Fremont County online services, and encourage individuals to submit feedback and request reasonable accommodations that will help ensure access to the services we provide.
- All requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and we will do our best to reply to all communications within a reasonable amount of time based upon the content of the report.
- Accommodations are provided at no cost.
- Accommodation requests that would impose an undue financial, technical, or administrative burden may not be fulfilled as requested.
- Due to current technology constraints, there are some instances where we are unable to provide information in an accessible format (e.g. mapping information). We will be monitoring these sections and will develop accessible solutions as technology improves.
