Grandview Bridge Project Update
- The City water line has been successfully installed, disinfected, and pressure tested.
- The bridge approach slab concrete pour is scheduled for this Wednesday. (Photo 1)- The approach slab will be poured against the bridge deck and tied to the deck with the protruding rebar shown. The ‘sleeper slab’ has been poured and will reside underneath the approach slab. See concrete forms in the foreground.)
- Remaining work: finishing the roadway embankment construction, which is basically raising the grade of the roadway above the level of the existing surrounding ground surface; roadway subgrade preparation; installation of waterproof membrane over bridge deck, which provides protection against corrosion; roadway paving; installing guardrails, striping, and fencing. - The expected construction end date is still November 7,th, although there are many tasks that still need to be completed.
Veterans Day
We will be honoring our Veterans that work for the County at our November 12th BOCC meeting. In addition we will be providing a luncheon for them following our meeting. We have 30 Veterans employed with Fremont County and we are very proud and honored to have such a large number of Veterans that choose to work as public servants for our community.
