The Fremont County Planning Commission will consider vacating two segments of county road in northwestern Fremont County at Tuesday’s monthly meeting. The two segments of road proposed to be vacated and dropped from maintenance by the Fremont County Department of Transportation both serve as entry roads to a pair of ranches off of County Road 2 in the Tallahassee area.
County Road 9A runs a distance of a half mile onto the Taylor Ranch while County Road F5 runs for a distance of 1.2 miles onto the Stirrup Ranch and to a parcel of state owned property. If vacation of the county road rights of way are approved both roads would become privately maintained driveways. Both roads are currently on the county road maintenance inventory and once vacated would no longer be maintained at taxpayer expense.
The Planning Commission will also consider an amendment to Fremont County’s subdivision regulations. The amendment would change language in the general provisions and definition sections of the subdivision regulations.
The Planning Commission meets at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 7th, in room LL3 on the lower level of the Fremont County Administration Building.
