The Fremont County Department of Transportation is alerting motorists that a portion of Central Avenue and Dozier Avenue on the northeast side of Cañon City will be closed this Wednesday and Thursday (May 9th & 10th) for maintenance. Transportation Director Tony Adamic says crews will be cleaning the barrow ditches along Central and Dozier which require the streets to be closed between the intersection of Drake and Central to the intersection of Van Loo and Dozier. Only local traffic will be allowed access between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. both days. All through traffic will be required to detour onto alternate routes.
