Fremont County offers a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program to all employees who may be experiencing personal or professional struggles.
All active employees are required to receive their payroll checks through direct deposit.
Fremont County offers a comprehensive benefits package to all eligible employees. Eligible employees are all employees working at least 30 hours per week, including temporary or seasonal employees. Employees working less than 30 hours are not eligible for benefits except contributions to the Colorado Retirement Association (as defined below).
Sick Leave Accruals
- All regular full-time employees accrue 4 hours of sick leave every pay period
- Maximum carryover is 500 hours of sick leave every January 1
Vacation Accruals
- Full Time Employees
- 0 – 60 months: 4 hours every pay period
- 61-120 months: 6 hours every pay period
- 121 + months: 8 hours every pay period
- Maximum carryover is 240 hours every January 1
- Part Time, Regular Employees
- Pro-rated based on the number of hours worked
- Full Time/Part Time, Temporary Employees
- DO NOT accrue leave
Holidays – Click on this link to view adopted holiday schedule. There are two separate schedules, a 10-hour schedule for all offices and buildings other than the Department of Human Services which is on the 8-hour schedule. The schedule applies to all Regular Full Time and Part Time (pro-rated) employees. Temporary employees do not receive holiday pay, or any adopted floating holiday hours.

Benefits are offered through the Cigna and Reliance Standard.

Life Insurance
Fremont County pays the premiums for employees for the following coverages:
- Reliance Standard
- $30,000 term life on employee
- $5,000 term life on spouse
- $1,000 term life on eligible children (up to age 26)
- Coverage decreases by 35% @age 70, 50% @ age 75, and 80% at age 80.
- Voluntary Term Life Insurance is available for employees to elect through Reliance Standard.
- Whole Life Insurance is available for employees to elect through Mass Mutual. Employee pays the full premium for this election and is only offered during open enrollment each year.
Long-Term Disability
Fremont County pays the premiums for all full-time regular employees.
- SSNRA plan with a 90-day elimination period, 60% monthly benefit percentage up to $7,500.00
Retirement

- 401(a) is mandatory participation for all employees working more than 20 hours per week
- 4% employee participation, 4% matching County contribution
- 5 year vesting schedule
- 457 plan is optional participation for all employees working more than 20 hours per week

- No County matching funds
