Summary

This position provides professional social casework services by investigating alleged abuse, neglect, or exploitation of at-risk adults. Duties include assessing the functioning of clients in the context of their chosen environments; identifying strengths and needs; developing case plans; determining their capacity to make life choice decisions; coordinating the delivery of services from community agencies; testifying in court hearings, documenting cases, preparing reports, and making monthly contacts as required.

Qualifications

Level I: Bachelor’s degree with a major in a human behavioral sciences field.  Major course work is the equivalent of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in either development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures or therapeutic techniques. Examples of such major course work are social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, and child development.

Level II: Bachelor’s degree with a major in a human behavioral sciences field.  Major course work is the equivalent of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in either development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures or therapeutic techniques. Examples of such major course work are social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, and child development.  Minimum of one year of full-time professional caseworker experience acquired after the degree in a public or private social services agency

Level III: Bachelor’s degree with a major in a human behavioral sciences field.  Major course work is the equivalent of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in either development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures or therapeutic techniques. Examples of such major course work are social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, and child development.  Minimum of two years of progressively responsible, full-time, professional case worker experience, appropriate to the assignment, acquired after the degree in a public or private social services agency.

Additional Requirements

Proof of valid Colorado driver’s license, vehicle in safe operating condition, and liability insurance must be on 

file at all times.
