Fremont County Weed Management offers a Do Not Spray Program for eligible property owners and lessees who wish to manage noxious weeds within the County right-of-way adjoining their property rather than having Fremont County Weed Management perform routine herbicide treatment.
Participation in the program means the property owner or qualifying lessee accepts responsibility for managing noxious weeds within the approved Do Not Spray area in accordance with the Fremont County Noxious Weed Management Plan and program requirements.
How to Participate
A Do Not Spray Request Application must be submitted and approved each calendar year. An approved request is valid from January 1 through December 31 of the applicable year, regardless of the date the request is approved.
A separate application is required for each parcel included in the program.
Submitting an application does not automatically place a property on the Do Not Spray list. The request must first be reviewed and approved by Fremont County Weed Management.
Landowner Responsibilities
Participants are responsible for:
- Managing designated noxious weeds within the approved County right-of-way area adjoining their property.
- Maintaining management consistent with the Fremont County Noxious Weed Management Plan.
- Posting clearly visible DO NOT SPRAY signs at each end of the approved area.
- Maintaining signs throughout the applicable treatment season.
- Submitting a new application each calendar year.
Fremont County Weed Management may monitor participating rights-of-way during the growing season. Failure to maintain required signage or adequately manage designated noxious weeds may result in termination of the Do Not Spray approval and resumption of County weed-management activities.
