Designated Noxious Weeds
Fremont County Weed Management works with designated noxious weeds under the Colorado Noxious Weed Act and the County’s noxious weed management program.
Staff can assist with noxious weed identification, management recommendations, treatment options, County treatment services when applicable, landowner assistance, and concerns involving designated noxious weeds on private property or county rights-of-way.
Fremont County Weed Management does not provide general mowing, landscaping, brush removal, lawn care, ornamental plant treatment, or routine property cleanup services.

General Weeds, Tall Grass, Overgrown Vegetation, or Property Maintenance
Tall grass, overgrown vegetation, or plants commonly described as “weeds” are not automatically designated noxious weeds. The appropriate contact depends on the jurisdiction and whether an applicable property-maintenance, zoning, or other regulation addresses the concern.

Fire-Hazard and Vegetation Concerns
Tall grass, brush, or other vegetation may sometimes be reported as a fire concern even when designated noxious weeds are not present. Fremont County Weed Management does not provide mowing, defensible-space clearing, brush removal, or general wildfire-mitigation services.
For an immediate fire or life-safety emergency, call 911. For non-emergency concerns, contact the appropriate jurisdiction or agency for the location and type of concern.
Plant Identification and Gardening Questions
For general plant identification, horticulture, gardening, or related questions, CSU Extension Fremont County and the Fremont County Colorado Master Gardeners may be helpful resources. Available services and any applicable fees may vary.

Agricultural and Land Management Assistance

Fremont County Weed Management is not a general landscaping or property-maintenance service. For lawn or turf care, mowing, brush removal, tree or shrub work, ornamental vegetation, landscaping, or general property cleanup, contact an appropriate private service provider.
