Fremont County Holiday Closure Notice
Fremont County Government offices will be closed in observance of Independence Day. Please note the staggered closure dates:
- County Administration Building: Closed Thursday, July 2nd
- Department of Human Services: Closed Friday, July 3rd
The County Administration building will be lit in red, white, and blue for July in honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America and the 150th anniversary of the state of Colorado.

Fremont County Department of Transportation (FCDOT)
The Fremont County DOT is still conducting dust-suppressant operations for the West end of Fremont County. This includes Iron Mountain County Rd. 26. They should finish operations in the next two weeks.
They are also replacing a guardrail on the Grandview Bridge after a recent car accident damaged it. Grandview Road will be down to one lane, and flaggers will be directing traffic.
Please exercise caution while traveling through the posted roadways during operations. Expect minor delays while traffic is directed through the work zones. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

This Thursday, May 14th, is the last day to submit Bids for a Design-Build project to replace five (5) large commercial rooftop units at the Fremont Combined Court / Judicial Center (136 Justice Center Road, Canon City, CO).
The project includes all engineering, permitting, equipment procurement, and installation. A 5% Bid Bond or certified check is required with all proposals. A successful bidder will be required to provide 100% Performance and Payment Bonds. This project is subject to Colorado Labor Preference (C.R.S. § 8-17-101) and, if the contract exceeds $500,000, Colorado Prevailing Wage requirements.

Fremont County is seeking proposals from qualified mechanical contractors for a turnkey Design-Build project to replace five (5) large commercial rooftop units at the Fremont Combined Court / Judicial Center (136 Justice Center Road, Canon City, CO).
This project is supported by a grant from the Underfunded Courthouse Facility Cash Fund Commission, administered by the Colorado State Court Administrator’s Office.
The project includes all engineering, permitting, equipment procurement, and installation. A 5% Bid Bond or certified check is required with all proposals. The successful bidder will be required to provide 100% Performance and Payment Bonds. Amrize Tire Day
Just a reminder that on Saturday, May 9, 2026, Amrize will be accepting used passenger car tires for disposal at the Portland Park. Fremont County residents can bring up to 15 passenger-car tires per vehicle to the park from 8 am to 12 pm.
