The Fremont County Board of Commissioners is accepting letters from persons interested in an appointment to the Fremont County Planning Commission to represent the Penrose area. A seat on the seven-member Planning Commission is open following the recent resignation of Tom Doxey. Doxey’s seat on the Planning Commission in the past has represented the Penrose area. The new appointee will serve the remaining two years of Doxey’s unexpired term.
Although any citizen can apply for a Planning Commission vacancy the Board of Commissioners will show preference to appoint someone to represent the Penrose area.
The Planning Commission meets monthly at 4:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month.
Anyone interested in the Planning Commission appointment should submit a letter of interest to the County Commissioners Office, Room 105, at 615 Macon Avenue in Cañon City, no later than 4:30 p.m., Thursday, March 31st.
