Planning Commission to Consider ATV-Dirt Bike Rec Area Permit

The Fremont County Planning Commission will consider an application for a dirt bike and ATV recreation area north of the Fremont County Airport at their April 5th monthly meeting.    Stephen and Lynette Harris have applied for a Special Review Use permit for an off-road rural recreation facility on the northwest corner of the intersection of Phantom Canyon Road and Fremont County Road #123 a mile north of Highway 50.    The permit is intended to allow only family members and friends to ride their dirt bikes and ATV’s at the 120 acre off-road recreation area.    The Harris’s plan is to include a free style training area, a peewee track, an intermediate track, and an ATV track.    The permit will not allow for any public events.    Any public event would require additional issuance of a temporary use permit.

The Planning Commission will also discuss the possibility of scheduling future workshops to resume work on updating the county’s Master Plan.

The Planning Commission meets at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5th, in the county commissioners meeting room on the lower level of the Fremont County Administration Building.
