Planning Commission to Consider Kennel Application

Planning Commission to Consider Kennel Application

The Fremont County Planning Commission will consider an application for a kennel operation in the Penrose area and for a two-lot minor subdivision in the Swissvale area when the commission meets for its monthly meeting on July 6th.

Kristen and Mike Schobrich are seeking approval of a Special Review Use Permit to operate a dog rescue kennel on their property on the northwest corner of 4th and ‘G’ Streets in Penrose.   The Schnobrichs want to be able to house up to 25 German Shorthair pointers for the purpose of boarding until they are adopted.   The half-acre piece of property includes three enclosed kennels and two fenced dog yards.   A storage shed would also be used to house the dogs at night.

The Planning Commission will also hear a request from Erik and Jennifer Lang for a two-lot minor subdivision for their property located on the south side of Highway 50 in the Swissvale area and about 800 feet west of Swissvale Road.    The minor subdivision will include one lot on 6.18 acres and a second lot on 4.58 acres    Both properties would connect to an existing driveway from Highway 50.

The Planning Commission meets at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 6th, in the Board of Commissioners meeting room on the lower level of the Fremont County Administration Building.   The meeting was moved to Wednesday because of the July 4th holiday occurring on Monday.
