The Fremont County Veterans Service Office already has 128 names to be engraved onto the wall at the Fremont County Airport War Memorial Park this spring
Fremont County Veterans Service Officer Betty Hanawalt reports that Tuesday, January 15th, is the deadline for orders for engraving more bricks on the wall at the Fremont County War Memorial Park. In late November the Veterans Service Office needed another 20 brick engraving orders to fulfill the minimum of 50 orders needed to initiate the next engraving on the wall.
Hanawalt expressed her appreciation to the Fremont County community for another overwhelming response during the December holiday period in which brick orders were placed to honor military veterans. Hanawalt now has 128 brick engraving orders which will be placed with the engraving company in the coming days.
The name of any veteran, living or deceased is eligible for engraving on the memorial wall. The cost to engrave a brick is $50 and the fee must be submitted with the order form. You can fill out an order form at the Veterans Service Office on the lower floor of the Fremont County Administration Building. 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15th is the deadline to submit your form to make sure it’s included with the engraving order this spring.
Hanawalt says when the engravers contact her office the people who placed orders will be notified of the engraving date. There will also be a public notification this spring when the American Legion and Boy Scouts will conduct a dedication ceremony for the additional names on the memorial wall. That ceremony is expected to take place during May.
