As historical renovation work continues on the historic Garden Park School building along Garden Park Road north of Cañon City, crews completed installation of a new roof last week. The school building qualified for historical grant funding after being listed on the Colorado Register of Historic Properties. Grant funds have also been received through the Gold Belt Scenic and Historic Byway. The Fremont County Board of Commissioners also waived the county’s building permit fee for the new roof.
