Planning Commission to hear ATV Permit Request

The Fremont County Planning Commission will consider a Special Review Use (SRU) for a commercial ATV tour operation in the Texas Creek area at their monthly meeting Tuesday afternoon.   The Commission will hear a request from Jackie Tripp who wants to operate Play Dirty ATV Tours from a five acre site along US Highway 50 about 1 ¾ miles west of the junction of US 50 and Colorado Highway 69.    Tripp’s proposal would have her operate her business on a Bureau of Land Management lease so she could attract ATV tour customers off of Highway 50 and then transport them to the BLM ATV trails system across the Arkansas River at Texas Creek.

If the SRU permit eventually wins approval it may help settle other access issues that developed over the past two years along the river in the same area next to the river bridge.

The Planning Commission on Tuesday will also consider adjusting their monthly meeting on the first Tuesday of each month from 4:00 p.m. to 3:00 pm.    If time allows the Planning Commission also plans to continue their workshop on the county’s Master Plan Tuesday afternoon.

The Planning Commission meets at 4:00, Tuesday, March 3rd in Room LL-3 of the Fremont County Administration Building.
