The Fremont County Heritage Commission saluted the county’s 150th birthday with a Sesquicentennial kickoff Monday, February 28th, in the atrium of the County Administration Building. Heritage Commission members showed off a series of display boards featuring historical photographs of people and places in Fremont County.
The Royal Gorge Quilt Council also unveiled a sesquicentennial quilt which features quilt blocks designed and prepared by quilt council members noting historical attractions around the county. The sesquicentennial quilt will soon be displayed in the Administration Building. Also to be flown on a flagpole in front of the Administration Building will be a special sesquicentennial flag which proudly features the sesquicentennial logo designed by the Heritage Commission.
