Veterans War Memorial Engraving Orders Being Taken

The names of 1,316 veterans have been engraved on the Memorial Wall at the airport

The Fremont County Veterans Service Office is asking veterans and their families to consider honoring a veteran for Memorial Day or Fathers Day by having their name engraved on the wall at the War Memorial Park at the Fremont County Airport.     Veterans Service Officer Betty Hanawalt notes that she must have a minimum of 50 names to arrange for the next engraving of the bricks, and she currently is about 20 names short for a minimum order.

Hanawalt said she is hoping to receive enough orders so that the next engraving can be completed in time for a possible dedication ceremony on the 4th of July.    Hanawalt notes that the name of any veteran, living or deceased can be engraved on the memorial wall.     A veteran’s information form for the engraving order is available on line at fremontco.com.   Click on the link for the War Memorial Park.   The cost of a brick engraving is $50 and must be remitted with the order form.   You can also contact Hanawalt for more information at the Veterans Service Office at 276-7400.
