The Fremont County Board of Commissioners is accepting letters from citizens interested in serving on the Fremont County Airport Advisory Committee. At their regular board meeting this week the commissioners reorganized the terms of the nine members of the Airport Advisory Committee so that all terms have a universal commencement date of October 1st each year. The commissioners staggered the terms so that three positions would come up for annual appointments every October 1st.
Under the reorganization, the committee seats held by Jay Seavy, Randy White, and Robert Henderson come up for appointment this October 1st. All are three year terms. White has indicated that he will not seek reappointment to the committee. In addition the Board of Commissioners will appoint someone to fill a vacancy on the committee created by the resignation of Dave Thomson earlier this year. The unexpired term for that seat on the committee runs until October 1, 2012. The Board of Commissioners plans to conduct personal interviews with each applicant.
Anyone interested in serving on the Airport Advisory Committee should submit a letter explaining your interest in aviation, familiarity with operations and issues at the Fremont County Airport, and any other details on your background. All letters should be mailed or submitted in person no later than 4:00 p.m. Thursday, September 29th to the Fremont County Commissioners Office, 615 Macon Avenue in Cañon City.
